COLUMBUS BOTANICAL GARDEN GALA Award-winning chef and master host Alex Hitz was the featured speaker at this year's Columbus Botanical Garden Gala. Alex is renowned for his sensitivity and refinement in the art of preparing and serving food. His signature style combines the relaxed elegance of the genteel South and a Continental élan. Hitz signed copies of his book, My Beverly Hills Kitchen: Classic Southern Cooking with a French Twist. 3. ANTIQUES & GARDEN SHOW OF NASHVILLE The 2019 Antiques & Garden Show of Nashville delivered an impressive lineup of speakers, in- cluding singer Faith Hill; architects Bobby McAlpine, Ray Booth, and Peter Pennoyer; and designers Bunny Williams and Katie Ridder. Flower magazine sponsored the Entertaining and Floral Lecture with Greg Campbell and Erick New from The Garden District in Memphis and world-class chef Elizabeth Heiskell. Greg and Erick also signed copies of their book Florists to the Field. events 4. LONGUE VUE HOUSE & GARDENS This year's Essence of Style Design Symposium at Longue Vue House & Gardens in New Orleans featured master florist Lewis Miller. He shared floral and event designs from LMD New York, Lewis Miller Design, and created arrangements during his floral demonstration. Miller, who is also known for his "flower flashes"— spontaneous floral designs that pop up across New York City—also signed copies of his book, Styling Nature: A Masterful Approach to Floral Arrangements. 1. THE CATHEDRAL ANTIQUES SHOW The Cathedral Antiques Show is a festival of art, antiques, and floral and interior design held annually to benefit a designated charity in the Atlanta area. This year's theme, "London Calling," featured an all-British lineup of speakers, including noted interior designer Nina Campbell, floral designer Paula Pryke, architect and interior designer Ben Pentreath, and garden/floral designer Charlie McCormick.
